Aberfeldy & Weem Heritage Walk

Many visitors to Aberfeldy may wish to find out more about the history of the area and the ways in which it has changed over the years. Until the 19th century, the focus of life was on the rural estates and the change centring on the countryside meant that the churches, markets and dwellings came together to form the town.

Since 2021, the Breadalbane Heritage Society has been working closely with others in researching, compiling and publishing in 2023 an “ABERFELDY & WEEM HERITAGE WALK” leaflet which provides information on 20 different locations in and around Aberfeldy.

The walk leaflet has been designed to give a way of exploring the town in a few easy walks and finding out about the buildings by using the QR codes sited in various locations which link to the Heritage Walk section on the ‘Visit Aberfeldy‘ website. Free copies of the leaflet can be picked up from the Aberfeldy Information Centre situated in the Locus Centre which is located in The Square in Aberfeldy.

This project was undertaken in collaboration between the Breadalbane Heritage Society, the Aberfeldy Museum Group and the Upper Tay Paths Group and the historical information can be found here in our website as well as on the Visit Aberfeldy site.
